History
In the 1930’s, H • Jaeque discovered new techniques for the production of filaments and split-film fibers through the tensile study of polyvinyl chloride films. After that, in the 1950’s, By Study, O•B•Rasmussen found ways to produce the weaving fiber with thin film extruding methods and by stretching equipment. Then, by 1965, Europe began to industrialize the production of unidirectional stretch flat wires, for industrial packaging pp woven bags making. Meanwhile, Chinese manufacturers started to develop
pp woven materials in 1966. During the past 5o years, thousands of researchers and manufacturers have worked tirelessly to create a vast and completely industry of pp woven material. Furthermore, thanks to the advantage of material price and labor, the made-in-china pp woven fabric and bags keeps competitive both on price and quality.
Production Method
The plastic flat tape is the basic formed material for making
woven bags. The raw material Polypropylene will be extruded after being heated in 190-250℃ extruder and completely plasticized. A model will form the material as the molten film before it gets into the cooling water, then, being cut into billet yarn. In the drying oven, the billet tape will be stretched into the flat tape, then be formed on hot rollers and be contracted on cold rollers, And finally, the winding system will roll the tapes and get ready to weave. Then, the circular loom will weave the tape as woven fabric in the tube or in single layer pieces. After printing, cutting, sewing and other customized procedure, we can get the bags what we expected.
Applications
Industry and Agriculture
Benefit from the resource and price, PP woven material has replaced lots of
packaging material. For instance, In China, 85% of the bulk cement is packed with pp woven material, that will consume more than 6 billion pieces of different sizes of pp woven bags every single year. And it’s also widely used in agriculture, as a package of aquatic products, poultry feeds, and the cover material of farms and so on.
Food
Rice bag, flour bag, sugar bag, salt bag and so many kinds of food packaging bags are taking woven pp as a proper material choice.
Transportation
With the developments of FIBC, it has become a popular and reliable packaging material for the bulk staff which is going to have a long journey to overseas markets. Besides, for trucking transportation cover, pp woven tarpaulins have replaced the ones made by cotton.
